The Welfare Reform Club are currently supporting local authorities clarify their policy and strategies to deliver welfare under both the current benefits systems and with the introduction of Universal Credit. The impact of these changes on business process efficiency is profound and many local authorities are stuggling with the volume of change and the new demands placed on them, at a time when austerity means there is limited internal resource.
Policy in Practice have developed a Universal Benefits Calculator. This is a cloud software tool that enables front line staff to engage more effectively with claimants and help them find strategies to escape the poverty trap and their dependance on the welfare state.
